Congratulations to Dr. Jingzi Liu on Her Successful Ph.D. Defense!
On July 11, Jingzi Liu successfully defended her Ph.D. dissertation titled “Data-driven Solutions for Power Systems During Energy Transition.” Her research focused on leveraging data-driven methods to address challenges in power systems as they undergo rapid transformation toward sustainability. Congratulations to Dr. Jingzi Liu on reaching this significant academic milestone!
Dr. Jingzi’s dissertation made impactful contributions across four major areas:
- Machine learning (ML) online applications: Proposed three data-driven methods to correct defective input features and enable robust ML in power systems.
- Demand response (DR) assessment: Developed an incentive-based DR capacity assessment tool to improve energy flexibility and sustainability.
- Affordable energy market design: Designed an innovative peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading fusion market emphasizing energy justice and decentralization.
- Grid benefit assessment: Created a grid-level benefit assessment tool to support the deployment of air-source heat pumps integrated with thermal energy storage.
